The free market at work. A much more rational allocation of resources, in that the birth mother is rid of a burden, and is given cash in exchange, the buyer of the baby gains the object of her affection at a modest cost, and the baby will be in a better place all around. But I guess selling babies is something like selling whiskey, in which it must be done only under certain circumscribed conditions, with proper oversight by appointed Government authorities.
