I can't believe fans at Cal actually rioting over a victory. I would think winning in Berkeley would be so un-PC.

You don't understand the long rivalry (about 100 years) between Cal and Stanford and also Cal hasn't won this one for about 13+ years. I'm sure there were lots of Old Blues in the crowd. I sat in a whole rooting section of them two years ago when I last attended this game. Some of the alums are rowdier than the kids and goad them on. This rivalry has been legend for as long as I remember.

I am an avid college football fan living in the heart of Pac 10 land (although I am a Wolverine fan). I am well aware of the importance of "The Big Game". I also know that with Cal on probation and not bowl eligible this year, this was their "bowl game". I assure you that my comment was made with tongue planted firmly in cheek and was meant as a jab towards the "outcome based" liberal Berkeley left.

It's been about 13 years since Berkeley beat Stanford.

But not that long since Berkeley students rioted and tore down goal posts. In 1997 they rioted after they LOST, and tore down the goal posts at STANFORD!!
