"This is your last campaign."
Funny thing about this statement. Even if it were true, it doesn't mean Terrell won't win.

'A Landrieu spokesman, Rich Masters, said the comment wasn't a threat, but a prediction that after running such a negative campaign, Terrell would no longer be viable as a candidate in Louisiana.'

This is a pretty lame explanation for that comment.
She didn't say 'You'll never win' or something like that.
I think it was an interesting choice of words and I would have taken 'This is your last campaign' as a threat, too.

Even if it were true, it doesn't mean Terrell won't win. Yesh, you're right. She may become so popular that it won't be necessary for her to campaign in the future.
I believe that Landruei smells death - her own political death. This is what has her so panicky. Lets hope it turns out well for Suzie and that all my (wishful?) thinking bears fruit.

Oddly, Landrieu might even be right about this being Terrell's last campaign. If Suzy is elected, she will be so popular with all groups in La., blacks included, that she will never be seriously opposed for re-election again!

Reminds me of the biblical story dramatized in "The Ten Commandments" when Pharaoh decides to kill the first born males of the Hebrews. Moses (Charlton Heston) says, "Out of his own mouth, he brings the plague upon himself."
I really think Landrieu was self-prophesying unwittingly. Either that or she was talking to herself. LOL
