Some have speculated that Sid DIDN'T kill Nancy--there was a gathering of musicians in their hotel room that night and they claimed that there was a very creepy drug dealer in the room with them (nobody knew the guy's name). The party moved on and Sid and Nancy stayed at their hotel room with the drug dealer. There was some speculation that Nancy may have caught this guy ripping them off, confronted him and taken a knife in the stomach for this. Sid was zonked on heroin the entire night, according to the friends.
Of course, maybe they were covering for Sid. We'll never know.
"I dreamed we had a dog. It was really little, but we loved it. And then it got sick, and it died. But we loved it so we didn't want to have to get rid of it. So...we ate it." (From the movie 'Sid and Nancy', with two of the best cinematic performances ever, provided by Gary Oldman and Chloe Webb.)

I know, I've heard that Sid didn't kill her either. That was going to be the defense of whatsisname, the famous lawyer.
I did some research on it a long time ago and there are witnesses that say Sid did not kill her. It is hard to believe that he did.
He really loved her...and was disrought without her.

Snuff Film Proves Sid Vicious Innocent of Murder
By Krash
Punk rocker Sid Viciouss girlfriend Nancy Spungeon was killed in a snuff video, claims actor Rockets Redglare, whose numerous movie credits include Oliver Stones Talk Radio, Martin Scorsess After Hours, Jim Jarmuschs Stranger Than Paradise and Down by Law--plus a porno with Sharon Mitchell.
Gotham cultural chronicler Gene Gregorits a/k/a Gene Suicide interviewed Rockets Redglare in the actors East Village pied-a-terre this week--an experience notable for what he described as a brilliantly excessive cringe factor.
Heres why: I know that Sid did not kill Nancy, stated Redglare, a habitue of yesteryears Chelsea Hotel punk-and-junk scene. I was there the night she died.
She was killed by a drug dealer who worked at Max's Kansas City.
Nancy's murder was videotaped --while Sid sits there on the couch, completely out of it.. practically in a coma. This was the tableau I had left them in.
The big problem for Sid was--it took him so long to report the crime. When he did report it, he had the blood all over him and everything.
The reason Sid didn't report the murder in the morning right away was that Nancy was dead, and he knew that he was gonna at least be detained [by police] , and he was on the methadone program. He wanted to get his methadone.
These and other remembrances of Gothams downtown demimonde--including heretofore unknown factoids about the late punker Johnny Thunders--will appear in Gene Suicides book Dead On Camera.
Nice Jewish Girl says: "I have always felt in my heart that Sid did not kill jewish girl Nancy Spungen. I just couldn't imagine it. Everybody in punk rock had that relationship, including Kurt and Courtney. And I just know he didn't kill her. F. Lee Bailey was going to defend him in court, and use the "poor working class boy" defense for him. Sid loved Nancy and would have died for her and was most likely a virgin when he met her. Nancy Spungen is certain type of jewish girl, like Courtney Love, the abandoned messed up working class jewish girl. Had Nancy lived her and Sid would most certainly not be together today. But they were definitely the punk version of Romeo and Juliet and it was completely romantic at the time, to die for the person you love, because you have no hope, no dreams. To die for punk rock . They were the first international martyrs for punk. They killed themselves for love and it is a great and real love story. The movie "Sid & Nancy" is worth seeing, it is great, and everything really happened that way. They were role models for disaffected youth everywhere. Every boy punk wanted to be Sid and every girl wanted to be Nancy for years, till Kurt and Courtney, of course. Sid and Nancy, frozen in time as luckless romantic heroes to this day."
