We reported how black barbers sued Jesse "Shakedown" Jackson because of his campaign to censor the politically incorrect hit movie "Barbershop." Now the movement is growing.
A new group called African Americans Against Exploitation is suing Jackson because he dubs himself "a black leader without permission from the country's millions of black citizens," the Associated Press reported today.
The group notes that Jackson uses his influence to shake down corporations to "donate" money that is supposed to further the cause of blacks but that he pockets.
"We are asking for a temporary restraining order for him to stop claiming he represents the black community," said Dwane Knight, president of AAAE. "The black community has no idea what's going on."
Civil rights veteran Al Brown, a former head of the Jefferson County Republican Party in Kentucky, is head of the organization. Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny is also a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
James Stern, head of National Association of Cosmetologists, said he became involved in the new suit because of Jackson's failed boycott of "Barbershop."
"This is a nuisance lawsuit with no basis in law or fact," fumed Tracy Rice, an attorney with Jackson's powerful Rainbow/Push Coalition. "We will seek to have plaintiffs pay the fees and costs associated with defending this frivolous lawsuit."
Brown countered, "We don't know what the judge can rule, but Jesse Jackson should not represent himself for a whole race of people."

The tragedy is that they choose not to because these people have made themselves slaves.
Maybe it needs to be pointed out to them.
You're probably right, but I'd think that he should have at least as much standing as a bunch of maggot-infested hippies do in shutting down federal forest logging in favor of some silly bird.
