I think the shaved chimps idea is about as crazy and silly as the weather balloon idea.

The facts are toooooooo far stranger than even such chimps. Just doesn't fit anything close from the perspective of any of the first hand participants, observers and their family members.

The "shaved chimps" idea is based on the govt.'s strange actions and documented history of duplicity. Have you read "Report From Iron Mountain"? The need to distract peole from the truth, to divert dangerous nuts, to find out who the nuts are, and so forth, can make for "strange bedfellows" indeed. I like to paraphrase the Buckaroo Banzai quote this way: "Some things aren't what they appear to be. But everything is exactly what it is."
