The Cincinnati Post printed an excerpt from some poll today asking if you had ever shared Thanksgiving with people of another race.

People who described themselves as very liberal were LEAST likely to have done so !

That's almost a trick question. I was about to say no, then I recalled my time in the Navy. Pretty decent turkey with all the fixins, then hanging out in the day room watching football and passing a bottle of Wild Turkey.

Not that I spend a lot of time in the service worrying about the next guys race. If he pulled his weight, he was ok.

ping.

I think Condi said the right thing to this group. Most of them think that Black conservatives are little more than wannabe whites pretending that race doesn't matter. She effectively dispelled that notion and that no doubt endeared some of them to her. I think it'll soften any tendency on their part to attack her.

It is not a trick question - it is a race-baiting question. It is designed to make you feel bad if you haven't. What if you haven't - are you a RACIST!! What if you have - does that make you a saint. Now what exactly is the point of that question? If I haven't, should I run out and find a black person to eat Thanksgiving dinner? Hmmmmm?

As far as Ms. Rice, she went down a long way in my estimation - of course, I never was a big fan, I was sorta neutral. But when I see a black person who is obviously better off than 99.9% of the people in this country crying RACISM - I get sick. Whining bothers me - it bothers me more from someone like her than Jackson. Let's all of us shed a tear because this woman who had a better life than many, many Americans of all ages, actually had people who did't like her - who made fun of her - who didn't want her around them. Well of course we should because that never ever happens to a white person - ] Yes, race matters to her evidently.

Now that's a rant---
