The Iraqi Army has to be double-strengthed to field a fighting unit - one half to hold a gun to the heads of the other half to force them to fight. Gen. The Iraqis will presumably have to maneuver their forces to counter a US ground attack, and this will expose their forces to the destructive effects of airpower (ie. Khafji & "the Highway of Death"). It's called combined arms.
