A gay Chicago-area man stands accused of killing a woman who allegedly tried to persuade him to change his sexual orientation.
Police arrested Nicholas Gutierrez, 19, on Saturday after he confessed and the body of Mary Stachowicz, 51, was found in a crawl space beneath his apartment. He has been charged with first-degree murder, attempting to conceal a homicide and burglary, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Authorities said Gutierrez made a videotaped confession, admitting that he became enraged during a conversation with Stachowicz because her questioning of his sexuality reminded him of debates with his mother.
Gutierrez and the victim were acquainted because they had both worked for a funeral home in the same building as the young man's apartment. When the killing occurred last Wednesday, Stachowicz was visiting Gutierrez after having attended Mass, the Tribune reported.
Friends and relatives of Stachowicz said the idea of her trying to convince Gutierrez to renounce his homosexuality was not out of character.
"Those of us who knew her immediately hear her soft voice saying something like, 'God wouldn't approve of the way you're living your life,'" Mary Coleman, a friend and neighbor, told the Tribune.
Laura Montgomery Rutt, spokeswoman for Soulfource, a national group dedicated to ending "spiritual violence" against GLBT people, said she was sorry to hear about the quarrel and the killing.
"God loves gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people just the way they are," Rutt said. "The Bible is clear that homosexuality is not a sickness and not a sin."
Bail was set at $3 million for Gutierrez, who is a ward of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
From Genesis:
If a man lieth with another man as with a woman, then both have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. If that doesn't make it clear that homosexuality is neither a sickness nor a sin, but an abomination and a capital crime, I don't know what does!
Which edition is that? It's not the Jerome, King James, or Revised Standard. Can I get a copy? What else isn't a sin? Inquiring minds want to know.
Some of these people better re-read the Bible (and yes, the Old Testament IS part of the Christian Bible). God may love the sinner but he sure doesn't like the sin. Practicing homosexuality is a violaion of the laws of God and nature.
No, it's self defense.
Thats Leviticus. Genesis details the sin of Sodom.
You give Christians a bad name when you use lies to promote your own agenda while trying to claim the moral high ground.
I've used the NIV as well as many other "versions" of the Bible for years. I was never left in any doubt after reading the NIV as to what God's position on homosexuality is. He condemns that behavior as sin. Period. I get sick and tired of "Christians" who spend more time trying to convince someone of the superiority of a particular translation (usually the KJV, which by the way, has its own problems with translation that people could nit-pick if they wanted to), than they do actually trying to win souls for the Lord and His kingdom.
This has to be the most idiotic statement I have ever seen
I looked and I quote this sample message for your convenience:

10. I'm entitled to my opinion. Like I said, I'm probably going to be in therapy for the rest of my life because vampires like this think I'm a waste of a sperm and an egg. If by "talking to" you mean "being committed to rehab until Vampira is no longer a threat," then maybe I can agree with you.
I can certainly understand why the guy snapped and killed this homegrown terrorist. He should get off without parole IMHHHHHHHO. I can't approve of what he did. But as a flawed and lovable human being, I must say I do find personal satisfaction that someone fought back with deadly force. IMHHHHHHHO she did ask for it. 'Nuff said.

Did you bump your head before you wrote this? No its not a lie and Im not claiming she was the sole interpreter either. Heres a quote from the article. Virginia Mollenkott was not the only homosexual who worked on the New International Version.
Perhaps you should try reading the entire article before you open your pie hole.

Too bad, I hope you used a condom.
someone of the superiority of a particular translation
So you agree that the sin of Sodom was about inhospitality, In Leviticus theres a difference of degree between the meaning of the words abomination and detestable and this act is on the same level as wearing clothes of two different materials. Romans was about lust and I CORINTHIANS is not clear if it means heterosexuals who abuse homosexuals or homosexuals who abuse each other.
You agree with these interpretations? .
I think there is something significant in the fact that a 19 year old is a ward of the state. fsf
Rutt. Interesting. I've started a list of real names of people that match their political aspirations. So far I have Sapp, Bogus, Snitch and now Rutt.
Hmmm. If the liberals ever get their way we'll all be wards of the State from cradle to grave.
I just told her these people are not just murders, in this one case, but they are liars, as well. They are liberals, and truth will not change their minds, so why get drawn in...
