The Republicans? They have no reason to give Jim Jeffords a damned thing.

The Democrats? I suspect that in the minority, they will look to protecting their own.

I think you are absolutely right. The democrats are losing one seat on each committee, they won't allow one of their own to go without a seat just so Jeffords can have one. If we take LA on the 7th, they'll be losing TWO seats on each committee. :o)
