"Jeffords will switch to the Democrat Party, I bet."

Could be...but, with his new office on Guam, I doubt he'll make it for many votes.

Is he still that close? Can't we move him to Syria or something? Maybe Iraq? He probably supports Saddam over the President, anyway.

Gosh, just look at the AP spin already.....

"The final vote was 90-9, belying bitter clashes that pitted Congress against the White House and the two parties against each other and that prolonged work on the legislation for nearly a year."

AP spin translator, 'in an effort to build back up daschle and his little dims, there were never ever and bitter clashes!' LOL!!

They voted on whether or not to allow further debate... They voted "no".

Now the Senate is voting on the actual bill itself.

From C-SPAN:

Cloture is the formal procedure used to end a filibuster. It can take up to three days and requires 60 votes.

Cloture can also be used even if there is no filibuster underway, to ban non-germane amendments.

If cloture wins, 30 additional hours of debate are allowed prior to voting, but they are rarely used.

If cloture fails, debate would continue without limits. Instead, the bill is usually set aside.

Let 'em spin...it's all they have left. The American people will see this as a victory (90-9) for the President!

She does, but she'd be smart to keep her backside from facing the cameras. That is one unflattering blue jacket on her, especially the back view of it!

Most of the media is useless and they prove it more every day. They are so angry about the Nov 5th election they can't see straight. They are going to go after the GOP and the President full-time now. It will not change between now and the 2004 election.
