Modern Republicans must be wary that the party of Reagan continues to truly hold the values of Reagan. Lying to your constituents over your length of service is not a "Reagan value."

Lying to your constituents over your length of service is not a "Reagan value." No, but lying about not raising taxes is a Bush value.

a 40-minute rebuke earlier this year from Bush adviser Karl Rove, who, in the Congressman's own words, warned him "never to darken the door of the White House again." I wonder who can back this up for him?

Lying to your constituents over your length of service is not a "Reagan value." On this I agree with you. A pledge is a GD pledge! When will a modern politician have the guts to keep one? We need to start holding our politicians to their campaign promises, even if we like their politics. Breaking them should be a serious offense to voters.

I know he broke his pledge, but there has to be someone who would continue the fight against illegal immigration. His constituents know that he broke the pledge, but they hold other things like respect for the law, to be more endearing. I am glad he is in Washington to lead the fight.
