Wrong! Eyes wide open here. You're a first class Bush basher and nothing more. I've given you Bushes quote on amnesty, twice now. It's a straight forward, clear and concise statment.

You are hopeless.

The Armed Forces are trained to kill, not to enforce civil law.

If the borders are being invaded, and you believe that the army is needed to repell that invasion, then you must be ready to declare formal war on Mexico, and kill the people trying to come across.

Look I believe that bigotry is a legitimate view and is not racism. I am a bigot on many issues but when a person makes one issue and one group his sole defining issue he risks becoming a target for charges of racism and that is the kiss of death in politics.

*boggle*

Pro-enforcement of the law and the protection of citizens rights is not bigotry/racism regardless of your belief system..

Bush is indeed to blame for not taking a stronger stance on securing our borders and controlling immigration.

Have you read the just passed Homeland Security bill yet? You may wish to take a peek. The INS is now nothing more than a small group of paper shufflers and the enforcement of arm is now a separate entity with marching orders to do exactly what you want done. The problem is that the HSA is as hated around here as the illegal aliens and the libertarians are having fits.

Simon smelled like a loser, and Rove steered clear of him.

It amazes me how RNC flacks who live a thousand miles from CA write as if they know what goes on in this State. Maybe, stinky, you just copy whatever talking points are sent to you.

The borders are in fact being invaded. The army can indeed be used to get things under control. We do not have to declare war or goto war with Mexico. We dont have to kill anyone.

I am NOT anti-enforcement. I am anti-illegal aliens but I just have a grasp of reality to go along with it. This country, regardless of what you may believe, will not willingly do what it will take to round up those that are here and to, in effect, declare war on Mexico by militarizing the borders.

...they could NOT prove that illegal alien employees had done work at Tancredo's house.

Link, please.

I'll let you do your own research. This was all over the news for at least a few weeks when the story broke. It shouldn't be too hard for you to come up with plenty of reading material on the subject using Google. Come to think of it, how did you miss this story in the first place? Not only was it all over the media, but it was discussed here on FR too.

Hopeless = having no expectation of good or success.

Now that's you all over, WRhine! LOL You're in a deep hole of despair.

OTOH, I'm as optimistic as any conservative can be and I'm hopeful for America's future and for the continued succcess of President Bush.

I HEARD him say it.......he didn't say anymore than that.

And, btw, INDEPENDENTS elected Bush.........

And I NEVER advocated National Health insurance. That's yet another lie of yours.

BTW, if the rest of your arguments are as "accurate" as your claim that I went on the record for national health insurance (I despise gratuitous capitalization), no wonder you're on the wrong end of every issue.

Unless you, like Tancredo, lie in your pathetic attempt to make yourself look credible.

Drug cartels and the mexican military have already militarized their borders. WE have every right to use our military to get things under control.

I dont believe that the military on the border is the "solution" to the problem. It would be a useful and called for tool at this time. We need to stop giving handouts and start enforcing our laws on illegals as well as employers who break them. etc..

The Reagan amnesty! I completely forgot. Good one.

Wasn't that amnesty supposed to be the first, last, and only amnesty? Of course, after Congress got done ammending, manipulating, and special interest grouping it, that amnesty came out looking quite a bit different than how Reagan envisioned it.

People who hire contractors have no idea where their labor comes from. Tancredo is in Washington and blamed for the employees a contractor hires in his home state. Even if Tancredo was in town, it'd still be unlikely that he'd know who was working for the contractor.

It's really depressing to watch people slam Tancredo for standing up for what is right.

We dont have to kill anyone.

You are right. We can seal the border using the military that is a no brainer. Now the border with Mexico is what, about 5,000 miles? How many troops are needed to be effective 24/7-365 days a year. Where are the troops to be housed, if it takes 20,000 to effectively seal the border then the minimum number required is 40,000 plus all the support personnel and transportation to and from patrol areas. you are up to about 60.000 by now and the border will be sealed only so long as we are willing as taxpayers to foot the bill. Then comes the moral question, how long will these troops be able to maintain good order 24/7 playing hide and seek with a bunch of rag tag people before they start asking for rotation out of this "chicken" outfit? You say we don't have to "kill people". Well for this to work, yes you do, that is the only feasible solution i.e. make crossing the border so terrifying that no one dares try. Are you ready to go that far?
