If you were there and are able to explain that situation there in Colorado.. that is what I was looking for. I wondered if that part of the article was correct. Perhaps the rest of the article about Tancredo is not correct either.

We'd like to know what the White House does think on this issue. Have you heard any comments from the White House on this?

The Republican Party doesn't want or need your God damn vote.

I see. I voted a straight Republican ticket this time. I won't vote for a single one next time.
Thanks!

I support tighter borders and am against illegal immigration, and minimizing legal immigration but your rhetoric just paints people like me (unfairly) as racists....and I can't blame them.

"Rehtoric"? What are you talking about? What's "racist" about any of my statements?

Today, O'Reilly is doing a LOT more for this cause than Tancredo.

The stridency part I understand, he is passionate about what he believes, and it's a motivator for the rest of us to speak out.

Having said that, he could probably be a little more low-key publicly, but I hope in Congress he keeps the pressure on. We're counting on him out here.

If you were as involved as you claim, you'd know that what was originally proposed was not "amnesty", but a worker program for people who had been here for more than five years and had long-standing ties to business and the community.

People scream "amnesty" when they want to mislead and incite.

If Tancredo isn't running for the presidency in 2004, you may want to look into Hillary.

Where do you guys get such rapier-like wits? Your ability to craft such devastatingly logical arguments for your side of the argument just blows me away.

Where is that happening? Vicente Fox and Bush aren't on speaking terms, in case you haven't noticed. You're pathological.

If bush and fox are not on speaking terms, it is because fox threw a hissy fit!!! I think this is the reason...

With Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff For the story behind the story...
Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 Mexico's Boycott Saddens White House

The White House is scrambling to appease Mexico, whose president, Vicente Fox, canceled a visit to President Bush's ranch after Texas executed a Mexican cop-killer.

White House spokesman Jimmy Orr today gushed that Bush "respects President Fox, and the two have an excellent professional relationship and a strong friendship that reflects the deep bonds between their two countries.

"President Bush looks forward to his next meeting with President Fox."

Fox's snub caught the White House off guard, the Associated Press reported today. "The rejection of Bush's invitation is an embarrassment to his administration. Such an offer to Bush's beloved ranch is a highly coveted diplomatic overture. Russian President Vladimir Putin is among the world leaders Bush has hosted there.

"Bush made relations with Fox and Mexico a centerpiece of his early foreign policy, a move that had the potential to help Bush with the critical Hispanic vote.

"But relations chilled as Bush courted allies elsewhere to prosecute the war on terrorism."

Oh, the nerve of the United States, still insisting on being a sovereign nation. Instead of nursing hurt feelings and sobbing for a killer, perhaps Fox ought to be firing up his own Old Sparky - if Mexico's bungling police ever manage to find those who have murdered hundreds of women in Ciudad Juarez.

I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for articulating it. Common Tator's words were kind of chilling.

I see you didn't cut and past your last comment, the one to which I was referring, your animosity towards Hispanics was palpable.

P.S. so sorry for misspelling rhetoric.

It isn't how Tancredo delivers his message, it is Tancredo's stand against illegal Mexicans that Bush doesn't like. Hell, Bush's own brother married a Mexican.

Proof word-parsing didn't end with Klintoon.

OK, lets just call it an amnesty for illegal aliens with at least five years illegal employment in the United States, from the ten-year exclusion mandated by law for anyone staying 3 years past visa expiration or past illegal entry.

Come to think of it you're right, "worker program" does sound better.

Uh, it's your "side" that's resorting to the toilet vocabulary.

Uh, I believe it was you that started the bad language back in post #22

Lying to your constituents over your length of service is not a "Reagan value."

On this I agree with you. A pledge is a GD pledge! When will a modern politician have the guts to keep one? We need to start holding our politicians to their campaign promises, even if we like their politics. Breaking them should be a serious offense to voters.

Well, that depends whom you ask.

The pitchforkers believe that whatever comes out of Pat's mouth is gospel, as do the Keyesters.

So, let it suffice to say that Tom's claim that he will fix the border problem can be viewed in a new light, a light shed by his apparent willingness to say anything at all to get elected, including promising that he will not run for re-election...then breaking that promise.

There are adjustments that a politician must make in order to deal with situations that were not in existence at the time that he stated a policy for his tenure on any number of subjects. That's just dealing with the situations as they rise...it's politics.

To blatantly lie about a matter of personal integrity is unforgiveable. There was nothing that forced Tancredo to break his own pledge, other than personal ambition.

The real obvious ones need to go.

R.I.P. Tom.

"That's ok, he won't need his congressional seat, in 2004 he will darken those White House doors when he walks through them as President of the United States. Bush is at more risk of having Tancredo challange him for the White House than Tancredo is of them ever coming up with some dork to challange his congressional seat. "

We can truly agree on that one. I would support Tancredo for prez anyday over Bush.

"... God damn the useless Republican party."

It is not necessary to blaspheme God's name.It is also no way to win an argument or influence other people's opinions.
