Seriously, people can take these diets a little too far. You gotta use a little common sense.

Exactly. But cutting calories never worked for me. Never. I don't have the discipline for it.

I eat two hard-boiled eggs for breakfast, a chicken breast for lunch, some cheese in the afternoon for a snack, and a meat and a Caesar salad (with wine) for dinner.

Guess what? I actually eat fewer calories than I did when I was stuffing my face with bread and nachos.

Protein satisfies hunger much more than carbs do.

And your body is not worn out all the time by consuming and digesting all those carbs!

I concur. I started Atkins in August and have lost 18 pounds. My wife won't listen to reasoning on this 'cause she sees me buying the protein bars and stuff (love to eat, had to cut down on them too,) and that it's a waste of money and (ooohh sooo dangerous...) I try to tell her that I haven't felt more even-keeled energy-wise in so long. Me, the food-vaccuum, and I don't pig out like I used to. I actually can push away.

Lots of water, which is good. And I love the meat and cheeses.

Now if I can get into an excercise routine just even 3-times a week, it'd come off faster.

Her problem is that she thinks my first hemorroids(sp?) (at 41), or the teenage girl dying of heart arythmia (on FR last week...), etc. all somehow are "because of that stupid Atkins diet...".

Some just will believe whatever they hear on Oprah or whatever and ignore what's reasonable.
