Good post, RONNIE. ALOHA!
You know what's coming down the pike and real soon too.
To: ALOHA RONNIE
Well what can you say? Bush is a strong man. The antithesis
of politically correct woosy 2000 man.

Editing quotes of the president to misrepresent his words is not telling it like it is. And the book was very arrogant.
To: ALOHA RONNIE
Amen, brother Ronnie. Did you hear how incredulous Wallace was when he listed those on the axis of evil agenda and asked "and Bush claims he wants world peace?!?"
To: Cinnamon Girl
The book was right on (All the President's Men). I don't know what quote was edited. Are you referring to 60 minutes, or Woodward's new book, or his old book?

The book was right on what? I think there were a lot of sleazy clowns involved with Nixon and the whole scene was disgraceful, but the way Woodward and Bernstein presented themselves in the book, the tone, and the deus ex machina style Deep Throat fantasy was just novelistic schtick.
And the quote I'm referring to is the one Matt keeps playing of President Bush saying "he doesn't have to explain himself to anyone."

I was in Tombstone Thursday with my sister and uncle who's visiting from New York. It IS a pretty cool place.
Can't wait to see how our new governor, El Napo, will handle the citizens who decide to take a stand on the border.

.."They did not lead, WE will"..
...Presidential Nominee BUSH.

...Presidential Leadership at its Best.

Speaking of Drudge, do any of you computer whizes know how to stop the annoying pop-up ads on the Drudge web site? Thanks for any suggestions.

I thought the book was masterful, and masterful investigative journalism. I think you just don't like your team going down, when they deserve to go down. The charge that Deep Throat was bogus has no evidence behind it. You might not like that Bush said that he didn't have to explain himself, but you have no evidence that he didn't say it. Not everything a president says sounds just perfect after the fact, and maybe out of context. But we don't know the context. The comment is newsworthy, and it is understandable it is repeated. But anyone who watched 60 minutes will be reassured that Bush is in charge, who isn't totally twisted.

In a very strange way, liberals are acting just exactly as they should. If you think about it.

No the release of those diaries and their private issues doesn't matter to Courtney. Then again it doesn't matter to Kurt, either.

Apparently, you really idolize Woodward and Bernstein. That's very nice for you. I don't, and I thought "All the President's Men" was a nap, not to mention a blow-hardy one. And Nixon's administration wasn't my "team" since I was too young to even be aware of it.
Why you are all pumped to defend the 60 minutes piece is anyone's guess. I don't know, but I do object to isolating to quote in order to misrepresent it. And I thought that smarmy conversation about "he's getting ready for war against Iraq and this guy wants peace?" was the kind of juvenile, Madeline Allbright approach to foreign relations that I can safely attribute to screeching liberal democrats.
