MINUS 4% from Terrell...this is a party poll....
So it is probably 44%-40% for Terrel or
48%-44% for Terrel

I did. She was very good and Landreau looked and acted like a high school girl. That alone would make me vote against her.
Terrell was cool and calm and very professional looking.

Anyone see the debate on meet the press......... Yes... just saw the rerun on MSNBC. I'd give the edge in this debate to Suzie Terrell. She was poised and confident, and was able to weather the storm of Russert's tough rapid fire questions. She proved that she is definitely ready for "prime time."
Landrieu held her own, but she had this beauty contestant-like grin plastered on her face for the entire debate. Terrell looked more serious in contrast to the smiling blonde.
Russert did corner Terrell on abortion and got her to say yes to his question of whether she has NEVER been pro-choice. I sure hope she was telling the truth, because it sure didn't look like it when she answered with a quiet, almost whispered "yes"... In contrast to her quick and foreceful responses to other questions... (Russert showed some Planned Parenthood documents from 1994 with Terrell's name on them. Terrell claimed that they didn't have her permission.) I am sure some Rats will be doing opposition research now.
Landrieu came across slippery and evasive on several questions, such as making the tax increase permanent. Terrell said flat out she'd support that. Landrieu said she would if it wouldn't jeopardize military funding. Russert then asked point blank "Would it?" And she hemmed and hawed and refused to give a straight answer. She pulled this routine on several issues. Terrell answers were clean and concise - except on the abortion issue as noted above.
But as I said at the outset, the clear edge in this debate goes to Terrell. She proved she's ready for prime time. Now it is just a question of who turns out at the polls.

I wonder which poll is acurate??
The SLU Poll: The 2002 Statewide U. S. Senate Runoff Election
If the runoff election for the United States Senate were held today
would you vote for Mary Landrieu or Suzanne Terrell?
Landrieu 51.4%
Terrell 36.4%
Undecided/Refused 12.2%
http://www.selu.edu/NewsEvents/PublicInfoOffice//US_Senate_Poll-Runoff.html
VS
If the December run-off were held today, Suzie Terrell would garner 48% of the vote and Senator Landrieu would receive 40%.
The 8 point Terrell advantage is outside of the 4.4% margin of error. Terrell performs much better with her party base than does Landrieu. Among registered Republican voters, Terrell acquires 72% of the vote compared to just 16% for Landrieu. With registered Democrats, though, Landrieu nets only 51%, while Terrell receives 42% of the vote. The survey was conducted by Wilson Research Strategies for the Susan B. Anthony List on November 10-12th. Wilson Research Strategies surveyed 503 likely run-off election voters in Louisiana. The margin of error for a study of this size is +/- 4.4% at the 95% confidence level.

Ooops... I am sure you noticed the typo, but the issue debated was whether to make the tax DECREASE permanent, not increase...

I think we can throw all the polls so far into the garbage dumpster. I am waiting to see what Mason-Dixon has to say. They seem to do the best polling in the South.

Interesting poll, eh?
We will be working tirelessly until Dec. 7th to elect Suzie as our first Republican Senator from Louisiana.
I know you will; spoken like a transplanted Texan ; )
I don't believe the Dims have a chance against you two and your group.
GIVE 'EM HELL!!!

Hey amigo, did you send her any money?
I vote right but I only support financially and in kind those that hold views most similar to mine.
If you got a problem with that, take it up with your Doctor.

I put my thoughts on the debate on the Sunday morning talk show thread. I think that Terrell did what she needed to do-- not look like an idiot or a crazy person. I think their inclination is to support someone other than Landrieu (she's still the incumbent-- and she's been in public office since she was like 22, so the undecideds will really break to Terrell). She just has to make sure she doesn't give them a really good reason to say no to Terrell.
