If you'll read the home page, Dr. Mercola's site seems to be devoted to selling his health plan and products, all available in his on-line store. That tends to weaken his credibility with me.

You'll notice that he seems to suggest that vaccines have a very high concentration of mercury ("Thimerosal, an additive that has been used as a vaccine preservative since the 1930s, contains 49.6 percent mercury by weight."), when in fact, thimerosal, if present in vaccines at all, is only present in trace amounts (see the links to the FDA and CDC sites I posted above).

He also says "Disorders associated with mercury poisoning include autism, attention deficit disorder, and speech and language deficiencies." I'd like to see his sources on that. (My own belief is that most cases of ADD are due to lack of discipline - fear of ruining a child's "self-esteem" - rather than any organic cause.)

Thimerosal-containing vaccines have been used in the U.S. for about 70 years now. Isn't it a bit disingenuous to suggest we'd have only begun seeing effects in children in the last several years?

Somehow, the whole argument reminds me of the environmentalist wackos, who argue based on fear-mongering rather than facts.

It's not just Dr. Mercola telling us this obviously.
