Folks, I was sailing in San Diego in mid-July. The boat I was on came within 300 yards of 3 nuke subs (we stayed about 400 yards away). All the while, there were protective gun boats flanking the subs. The sailors on the boats had automatic weapons and kept a close eye on us with binoculars the whole time.
These guys meant business... shoot first - ask questions after. Turns out the biggest of the 3 subs was heading out to sea.
