Her family was big into Baltimore politics (where I'm from). Her dad was mayor and so was her brother. Their/her maiden name was D'Alesandro. Balmer' city may be liberal, but it sometimes knows a real person when it sees one. Her family was reasonably liberal, but not like she is, they were within the acceptable standards of the day, and not as liberal as some. (the 60's) Therefore, it's thought that she moved to California to have a better chance in politics, where she can be her true ultra liberal self in San Fransico. It seems to have worked.
