If demonizing GOP leaders is the RATS "best hope" over the next two years, their party is destined for the dustpan of history.

It's amazing they actually had the gall to post this in NEWS rather than opinion. Barf-o-rama.

Every conservative Republican politician in the country has learned the Gingrich 'lesson', which is that you should limit your televised contact with the 'mainstream' press as much as possible, otherwise they will turn you into the second coming of Ivan the Terrible. Delay most of all has learned this lesson. As a result, this article is just wishful thinking on the part of some liberal reporter.

DeLay I noticed on the TV this week has turned into a nice, calm individual -- going to have a hard time demonizing the Tom DeLay I saw this week on TV!

Do believe Republicans learned from the Newt debacle!

This is going to be fun to watch!

Let me get this right, if DeLay is the Dems best hope of regaining the House. Does that make Pelosi the Dems best chance of losing more seats?

HHAAAAHHAAAAHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well this is just more liberal drivel...Will we hear the same thing about nancy BELLAPALOSI No..She is just a good democrat..Not a fanatical left wing commie biaatch..
The liberal media is in step with the rat DNC talking points.
The liberals are desparate...Be aware for anything, when you back a rat into the corner the rats natural instinct is to fight back...I am waiting for more and more of this in the next two years...

The new media contest...who's more extreme Pelosi or Delay? Where can we look up their "conservative" v. "liberal" rankings?

Does this make Pelosi a radical liberal? Of course not, she's mainstream, according to the media.

This is grasping at straws. They HOPE for a re-run of the press-inspired reaction to Newt. What they forget is those were the clintOOn years, and the press has lost its ability to "inspire" the American electorate.

My predition: This dream of Delay causing a leftward shift in American politics will not come true.

I agree with you. Delay has been a veritable pussy cat on TV. He has learned the lessons of Newt and President Bush will make sure that Delay puts on his best smiley face to to the TV cameras. This RAT ploy will not work.

There's a huge difference between the "successful" personal attacks against Newt in the 90's and a possible orchastrated RAT/Media attack against DeLay today. Newt's political foil was a President backed by the media mussle the office commands.

Political spats between DeLay and Pelosi or Lott and Daschle won't even make it on the Leno or Letterman show much less into the political mix.

The only way the RATS are going to be able to "personalize" politics is to take on President Bush which is a proven losing strategery.

The RAT party is currently a cluster [blank] and it doesn't look like they will find a "message" anytime soon.

Every conservative Republican politician in the country has learned the Gingrich 'lesson', which is that you should limit your televised contact with the 'mainstream' press as much as possible, otherwise they will turn you into the second coming of Ivan the Terrible

Delay has always been interested in calling the shots.. not promoting them. He has always had people front for him.

There is one tiny little exception that the main stream press is not seeing. Shawn Hannity's radio now reaches over 10 million different people per week. The entire ABC TV Network of all prime time shows reaches 10.7 million different people per week.

Think a moment. Delay could go on Hannity and reach far more people than he could going on 20/20. How do you think Delay would be treated on Hannity as opposed to say... Nancy Pelosi?

Rush is still king of the hill with well over 14 million different people listening to him. But Rush rarely does interview shows. Shawn does them a lot.

Rush reaches more people than CBS. When a third conservative show goes over 13 million, the effects of the 3 so called major networks will be matched in reaching people.

As Fox continues to pull ahead things will gradually change in TV news. It took nearly a decade for the top radio brass to figure out liberals don't sell on radio. By the time Fox has kicked the liberal channels butts for 10 years they will figure it out too. The three major networks will not exist in 10 or 12 years. There will be far fewer local TV stations and they will just be 24 hour local news stations.

it can all be summed up as follows.

The Media is changing. The right is winning control. The left is losing control.

It will be fun to watch the Nancy boys for the next 2 years.

With Rep. DeLay being a conservative, he believes in Liberty and FReedom, leaving the Nancy boys to serfdom and repression. I don't think that's something they can win on.

This paper is only saying this because they are Katherine Harris' hometown paper. Delay stumped for Katherine and it made them furious. They are just trying to upset her, IMHO.
