Sage advise; moreover, *if* I were to preside over a wager between the one calling himself, "Mudboy Slim" & you?
I'd highly recommend there be something akin to a, "Performance Bond" required equaling at least half of the cash value of any such wager.
The "Judge" -- of course -- could & would act as the holder of such an escrow between the parties, too.
There's no substitute for experience when it comes to making certain kinds of deals with certain kinds of people, y'know.
