Missing Adult, HELP NEEDED (crime in progress?) [SC]

This is an urgent plea for help from Prairie Lady; these are her posts: [copied]

I JUST got off the phone with my neice. It seems my sister (her mother) is missing since yesterday between 3pm and 4:40pm yesterday from the SouthCarolina area.

She headed north as far as we can track, but then nothing. This is TOTALLY uncharacteristic of her.

We need to know if she is on her own willingly making decisions, or if she has been abducted and is in need of help. Is there anybody from that area that can help?

ok, she spoke to hubbie from home via phone about 3 pm yesterday afternoon. She left home at that time saying she was headed for her local walmart near Aynor South Carolina..I don't know the exact town...maybe conroe or something? She never made it to walmart. Survaliance tapes show she never went in there. She withdrew some money from the bank locally. She put gas in her car at the north carolina / south carolina state line (cherry creek). She withdrew a BUNCH of money in Raliegh Durham North Carolina. She spoke to her daughter at 4:30 saying she was going christmas shopping and that she would be late. But she never made it home.

If she had any inclinations to leave home, she never indicated it, and she would NOT be heading NORTH!!

She is 5'7 inches tall, LONG legs, 150 lbs, has very short medium brown hair. lots of freckels, hazel eyes. Driving a Dark Blue BMW 4 door with a mini antennea on the driver's side on the post between the door and the windshield, licence plate # 845HLG

My brother in law is former military police. He made a call to the police and is tracking bank usage which is showing itself to be very abnormal such as numerous attempts to use the various cards but rejects due to wrong pin numbers. He's requested survalance tapes from the banks as well. She was supposed to go to walmart, but walmart survaliance tapes show she never made it there. So, hes compiling stuff to show that something IS very wrong.

Also, she talked to her daughter AFTER one of the cash drafts and said someting weird to her daughter...like I love you...and she NEVER says that to THAT daughter.

Anyway, I didn't want to put all this on the boards...

But it does appear by the info they released over night (about the other women and the woman in Huntington that they stayed with) that Alice did NOT leave NC... So IMHO, she's in SC or NC.... But I've been wrong before...

TankGurrrl, we've been concerned about a possible impersonator. We're hoping there's a simple, logical reason for the discrepancy. As we read your comments last night about the BIL we were reading an article about all the scattered "friends" from jail who helped the perps. The thought crossed our minds that a scumy opportunist reporter would be better than some other possibilities!

So take care, be on the lookout, watch your six. We posted your comments on the TB2K thread and on TB2K chat so hopefully an answer will be forthcoming.

Thanks Casc... I'm off... Monica knows the areas we're going into since this is the area she searches for missing persons ALOT... We'll prolly be on our own since we're looking for areas that may have been "missed"...

THIS IS MOST FRUSTRATING!! My bag is packed... have snacks and extra jeans in case these get all wet... and my husband walked in AS I was walking out the door and said that my 10yr olds play is today at 1pm ... NOT TOMORROW like he told us. :(((

Why am I being thwarted EVERYTIME I try to search? When you pray this hard, does that mean it's providential? :-/

I cannot miss my 10 yr old's performance... So I just called Monica and told her I will call her at 2pm and go meet her wherever she is... Stress is at a very high level today... :(

I actually got a little info at my kids DRAWING class I teach... is that bizarre or what? One of the girls lives in Winnabow and told me that she saw reported there that the car (with a man in the front seat and another man AND WOMAN in the back) was spotted at a practice range in Winnabow... She said that the guy that saw them said when they spotted him looking at them, they drove away...

The little girl said that last night, the police were gathered at the place where her soccer team was coming into and that the coach told them they were about to be overrun with kids... so the police/searchers left...

For whatever that's worth... I personally hadn't seen that much information on WHAT was seen in Winnabow myself...

I'm about to head out to the play... just dashed in to pick up my husband... Laters...

That is bizarre all right ... but wherever the info! Those perps sure did get around. They must have been on speed or something.

YEah... so this means that if they really were spotted in Winnabow (which is even FARTHER from SC than Bolivia) then they had only about an hour - 90 minutes to get back to Little River to use that ATM card there...

I am a bit worried at WHY they were at a SHOOTING RANGE? :((

Thing is, all these spottings, one doesn't know if it was Alice or any number of those "girlfriends" from jail ... hard to track a timeline with these nutcases popping up in 6 states with so many groupies.

Hunt continues in NC for kidnapped Galivants Ferry woman

(Columbia) Nov, 22, 2002 - The Horry County woman authorities say was kidnapped from a Conway Wal-Mart's parking lot on November 14th is still missing. Law enforcement personnel in several states are still searching for Alice Louise Donovan, 44.

The two Kentucky jail escapees suspected of abducting her, Chadrick Fulks,25, and Branden Basham, 21, are both in custody, and her BMW has been recovered.

Authorities say the two have given statements admitting binding Donovan with duct tape in the back seat of her car, but they've given conflicting reports of the last time they saw her.

Helicopters searched North Carolina from the air as hundreds scoured the land., but Jim Sweitzer of the Federal Bureau of Investigations says, so far, nothing, "To this point, we've not had the results we'd have hoped for. We have not yet found Alice Donovan."

North Carolina investigators are combing areas from Little River to just north of Bolivia where they say the two suspects were spotted in Donovan's car at a Shallotte gas station 90 minutes after her abduction.

They were later spotted back in South Carolina without her. Her car was found Wednesday evening in Goshen, Indiana, near where Fulks was re-captured.

Officials hope Donovan's case mirrors that of James Hawkins, another person allegedly kidnapped by Basham and Fulks. The men are said to have tied him to a tree in Indiana, leaving him a coat on a chilly night, "He promised me if I stayed calm that they wouldn't hurt me." Hawkins freed himself 14 hours later.

Investigators and her family holds out hope. On NBC's Today show Donovan's sister spoke for those close to the wife, mother of two and grandmother of three, "They're struggling. This is devastating to them. They're really struggling here."

Basham and Fulks two escaped the Hopkins County Jail on November 4th. Basham was serving a five-year sentence for writing a bad check, and Fulks was awaiting trial on robbery charges, authorities said. The charges against the two include kidnapping, carjacking, robbery, and attempted murder of police officers.

Two Kentucky jail escapees suspected of abducting two people were in Huntington the day a Marshall University student last contacted relatives in Lincoln County.

Samantha Burns, 19, of West Hamlin, has been missing since Nov. 11, when she called her mother from an apartment building near the Marshall campus and said she would be coming home. Her burned-out car was found Nov. 12 on Haney’s Branch Road in Wayne County, near Huntington.

Troopers are investigating any possible link between the two Kentucky escapees and Burns.

“We can’t definitely eliminate them [as suspects] because we know they were in Huntington,” said Trooper Jay Powers, State Police spokesman.

But Powers added, “We in no way, shape or form are tying them into Samantha Burns’ case.”

State Police were not aware of L. Branden Basham and Chadrick Fulks’ alleged multistate abductions and thefts until questioned by the Gazette on Monday. Since then, they have discovered that the two men were in the Huntington area on Nov. 11 and 12 and have added them as possible suspects in Burns’ disappearance.
