Supposedly it's all medicine and supposedly everyone should be allowed to practice medicine without a license, and supposedly the worst abomination in all the world is passing judgments upon other's actions.

In the late 1970s-early 1980s, my best friend Charles had this great Boxer named Boogy. Boogy could smell pot a mile away. If we walked in the house and one of us had it in a pocket (which was all the time), Boogy would let out one of those disgusted Boxer noises (Boxer owners know which one I am talking about), and would leave the room. He hated pot.

But, one day Charles gave Boogy a shotgun, and Boogy became an instant pot-junky. We had to start leaving our pot in the car before we came in the house because Boogy had a habit of running up to us and sniffing our pockets where he knew the pot should have been. If he could smell it, he would drive us crazy until we gave him a shotgun, if we didn't have any, he would walk away in a jones.

Thank you for sharing that with us.

I wonder what FreeTally, Hemingways Ghost, chances-38,Paxmacian and the other usual pro pot-head posters have to say about this report?

Not exactly what I call good manners. Very few libertarians on this forum admit to smoking pot. Most, like myself, flatly deny it. Most of those that oppose the WoD do so for political and economic reasons, not for personal use. Claiming otherwise is false. Your tactics are identical to those employed by the Liberals in order to smear their opponents instead of discuss the issues.

There again I must ask. Where is the word Libertarian used in that post?

"Looks like Tylenol is far more dangerous than say, Marijuana.",

So are 5-gallon buckets. Your point is?

Look for more of this when pot becomes legal.

Oh yeah, there are tons of two-year-olds out there who drink and smoke cigarettes. A real epidemic, I tell ya.

I never accused you of using the "L" word at all.

I did, however, point out that you used bad manners, personal attacks, and Liberal tactics by calling people pot heads or words to that effect, unless you KNOW that they are indeed what you claim.

That's very revealing that you equate taking medicine with PRACTICING medicine.

There was an article posted on FR not long ago that revealed that in Florida more people died from prescribed drugs than from illegal drugs in 2000.

There was once a time when marijuana was legal and booze illegal. Obviously there is no objective moral base for today's reversed situation. Without an objective moral base, how do you justify the government preferring one over the other?

My brother is living proof that pot/alcohol/handguns/sniper rifles/SUV's/corporations/rock music/television/internet chat/credit cards/etc. is not a good thing.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that your brother's use or abuse of pot was not a good thing? Place the blame where it belongs with the user/abuser, not the inanimate object.

Point taken. I should have used the words, "those who are for the legalization of illegal drugs," instead of using the words or word, "pot-head."

May I ask, on your home page you give a link for General Patton. Is that the same site as for the Patton museum? I clicked on the link a few moments ago, and it came back "unable to display page."

Some people are so friggin stupid!

A pity that prohibition on stupidity is not possible. Were that so, then all other prohibitions would not be necessary.

I'm for at least decriminalization of most currently illegal drugs. And I don't use any of them, nor do I advocate their abuse. Part of the proliferation of the quantity of street drugs is a direct result of drug laws and chemists playing with the loopholes. Drug laws only help spawn new drugs and, just like bathtub gin was often toxic, many of these chemists and their distributor make toxic potions for their clients.

Many of us have denounced drug abuse and addictions for far too long to sit still and have ignorant people who cling to outdated stereotypes make false and silly statements instead of discussing the issues.

As far as the Patton link is concnerned, it was to a thread with the famous speech. I've been to the Patton museum, seen the ivory handled revolvers, and even served in the same brigade with GSP III. Patton was a greatly gifted and driven to succeed in all endeavors from athletics to the military. I'm sorry if the link is broken.

Don't worry, it's not restricted to your family. I have an in-law that's a drunk.

Could be just a temporary glitch, I will try again.

May I ask, what was GSP III like? Did he ever speak of his famous father?

Sorry to imply that I served "with" him, I was only in the same brigade and only saw him on a couple of occassions. As much as I admired the original, I never met III.

Another one of those 'wacky' libertarian ideas is to privatize medicine and charities, ending welfare as we know it today.
