Naw, money buying favors and position in "the Chruch" ... Can't happen!

No one said that Church members/bishops aren't sinners. Remember Judas? Although in this case I think it's more of a case of cowardice amongst the bishops and cardinals than anything else.

Could be, but in the case of hi profile liberals I believe it more the case of money ... pure and simple. Experience has taught me that huge donations cause many a church elder to wink, nod, and then look the other way.
