[history]
There's a lot to think about this week--the rise of Nancy Pelosi, the meaning of the Republican triumph--but my thoughts keep tugging toward a group of people who are abused, ostracized and facing a cold winter. It's not right what we do to them, and we should pay attention.

In my case, I really do donate blood every 56 days, but it's only because I can't do Habitat for Humanity anymore -- not since I injured my backI thought you threw your back out pushing the orphan and the puppy out from the path of the speeding train.

Not much of an argument. Good use of adjectives. You are hereby promoted out of junior high.Oh, you ain't seen nothing yet. Wait till he get's warmed up.
We have given all the arguments and get the same replies. "I don't like the smell" "Do it for the CHILDREN".

Spell check ain't gonna catch that. It is, after all, an actual word.

The grammatical error, OTOH...

I thought you threw your back out pushing the orphan and the puppy out from the path of the speeding train. Yeah, that was a bit of a close call...

observed truthsI've been to town meetings and public hearings and observed the behavior of people, similar to yourself, demanding that public policy be corrupted to the satisfaction of their neurotic demands.
Regulations have been passed, caving in to their demands. This is true.
Nice try.

I did finish with: But maybe that isn't true anymore, wasn't that what the big tobacco settlement was all about, yeah, that's it.
For the most part a beef with smokers, or those compelling us all to pick up the health costs are one and the same, or they are the relatives of smokers who won't bear the costs for their own families like dashole whose poor mother can barely survive on her social security.

I cant help but look back at the legions of unknown and unknowable who built this nation. Sailing oceans with a simple compass, no Coast Guard to rescue them with only the Bible, Hope and Courage. The millions that mined coal, for all their day, coming home coated in dust, breathing the dust. Physical Friggen pick swinging till their bone joints were worn down to blood on blood. Unless they were buried by tons of water and coal.
Then there is your type. Soft. Weak. Gasping, hand wringing pudgy waddle butts cowering every time the lights flicker. God, talk about the old Roman adages about the inheritors of the estate being unworthy. Right now as we speak, tougher men then you could even imagine are living and training in lung choking dirt, so you can whine about some about your fellow laborers who are trying to keep ahead of a mortgage, school their kids and drag themselves into retirement. And attacking them is what you apply yourself to? You dont want to know about my personal attacks. And get this Nancy Boy, I dont even smoke. So you might, in your dimness, have a hint of what would be in store if it was something that I personally do. Not for over a decade has anyone crossed me, maybe their reptilian brain stem can, beyond the efforts of existing at the right-hand of the Bell Curve, sense a life force, now almost criminal in this nanny-state-mother-may-I culture.
Smoking, the dirty, killing, filthy vice that it is, is done by what fag, limp writ sociologist call, the working class. Well they guard your house, pull your kids out of the fire, build, fish, make, fly, truck each and everything that allows you, and me, to live lives unequalled in the history of man. And I honor them. And if they want to smoke, and blow clouds of smoke in my false, no problem. So, maybe you will be at some beach in the Caribbean this winter called, Tingles, or Sandals, talking about how cut your abs are, and the newest New Balance x-country shoe and those idiot Homer Simpson type smokers. But they produce and build and fight and Ill take them and their ever minor faults (like you dont have them) any and every day of my life.

Hey jerk, I told you I was 5 years old or younger when I asked my father to stop smoking. Although I'm young, the anti-smoking propaganda was NOT a part of any education I received.
Is it CONCEIVABLE to some of you people that someone could actually be bothered by cigarette smoke? Especially a child?
And that it's not an unreasonable request that the smoking be done at least near a window, if not outside, if it's in a home.

In the old days (before computers) people did not rely on a machine to check their spelling. How do you think I caught it?
Which brings up a point - It doesn't have to be spelled well to be a good insult, or a good argument.
To: laredo44
You're profoundly disturbing to me. You've misrepresented my position from the first post.
You've called me a prohibiter, when all I have said is that a room(or in restaurants a section) should be set aside for smokers.
You self-righteous prick, you've refused to read the damn posts I've made. I'm allowed to think smoking is mostly smelly and intrusive in closed spaces(say an airplane) but NOOOOOOOOOO, God f-in forbid that I insinuate that something you're doing isn't positively heavenly.
Do what you want in your home, do what you want outside(though I wonder if you think weed smokers should be allowed to smoke it outside), do what you want in private establishments that allow it, but don't force your ridiculous beliefs that smokers are somehow the ultimate conservatives on me, OK?

And you are so brain-dead and addicted and ignorant. That is why smokers will be relegated to less and less space. Your attitude will force more and more laws. Your attitude and arrogance typyify the main proplems with this country. That is we have become a nation of self absorbed pissants and bullying busybodys. Not satisfied with the sterlile little existence, you must ruin the lifes of all around you.
Exactly what space have you personally decided to relegate less and less of to smokers? None is the probable answer. My guess is, failing to derive fulfillment in your own life, you obtain vicarious enjoyment from cheerleading the denial of the enjoyment of life to others.
