Considering a recent CNN/Gallup poll reflected that 60 odd percent of the Democrat voting public think the Democrats are too liberal, this is death to the Democratics.Something's missing here. It doesn't add up.
The Dems, fully controlled by pollsters, know that many of their own think that they've gone to far to the Left and as a result they got hammered in a mid-term election. But Pelosi? You just can't go any farther to the Left than that.
I think Hitlary! is in play for '04. If Pelosi provides the socialist lightening rod, it will make Hitlary! come off as the more sensible, "moderate" Dem.
Maybe I'm grasping at straws here, but something in the water just doesn't compute as Prince used to say.

You may be right.
However, I do not see how she could pull it off, barring a colossal screw-up by Bush. Her best shot is in 2008, and even then, that is quite iffy.
Now, in 2004, she'll be somewhat of a kingmaker, because she and Bill still have a lot of pull with the Dems. Also, you have to keep in mind that the Senate is NOT exactly the best place from which to launch a Presidential campaign.

I see your point and agree.
