He could also have added that in a time when we desperately need good common sense judges, little Tommy Dasshole was so disappointed in the nominees that he and Sen. Leahy just had to hold them up. If Zell is smart, he switches parties next week.

Zell Miller is the only spokesman the Democrats have who is even in mainstream America. All the more reason to think his party will take a pass rather than embrace his sound advice. Its too much for the hard core Left that runs today's Democratic Party to swallow.

Zell's problem is that he's a loyal man, but he's loyal to a party's thats completely abandoned what it used to believe in. I agree with almost everything Zell mentioned, but there isn't a chance in hell of the liberal/leftists Democrats doing any of it. Actually I especially liked his part about moving the bloated argument from DC and giving control back the states and local groups. People know how to run their own lives better than some DC bureacrat.

Here is one thing that truly separates Democrats from Republicans. While I mostly like Zell Miller I resent the notion that we need to spread big government into all of America where it would only have room to grow and control our lives.

The US Government is already outside its bounds, trashing the Constitution in many areas and unyeilding in its policies of taking from the taxpayers much more than it needs. Why in the world would we want it to get comfortable in places where its potential to grow unfettered would lead to further restrictions on the people?

On the other hand, Democrats were certainly not anti-war during the Clinton years when he pushed for interventions in Somalia, Haiti and Bosnia. How come I didn't see massive anti-war protests for those campaigns? Maybe because they were not critical to our nation's security?
