Do you have a lot of student loans to pay?
Fortunately not. My employer was paying for it up until I was layed off. I still had 1 semester left, so rather than just having nothing, I bit the bullet and paid the last semester out of pocket. What the heck I figured I was marketable and the economy along with I.T. would turn around. HA HA ...how wrong I was, 8 months after graduation, 15 months after the layoffs and nothing. A few interviews, a few companies sayin things like , "...you have really good qualifications, yada, yada...but we're giving the job to the consultant currently working on the project." , or something along those lines. By about this past August I was about fed up with retail, temping and general under-employment. I figured I.T seems no better than it did right after 9/11 but the trades seem to be booming so I'm retooling myself, and going for my E-2 license.
