Defining the clintons and clintonism: Nov. 5, 2002 and Q ERTY

The irony of the clinton Keyboard Caper, the inspiration for my Q ERTY SERIES, is that whereas we "didn't need those Ws to define the clintons," it was precisely a "W" -- Dubya -- who finally defined the clintons and clintonism.
Because he did so by counterexample, Dubya accomplished this feat with exquisite -- and seemingly effortless -- precision, subtlety and brilliance.
-
Dubya's love defined clinton hate
Dubya's courage defined clinton cowardice
Dubya's character defined clinton corruption
Dubya's plain talk defined clinton doublespeak
Dubya's competence defined clinton ineptitude
Dubya's unselfconsciousness defined clinton solipsism and self-aggrandizement
Dubya's selflessness defined clinton egocentricity, self-protection and self-enrichment
Dubya's morality defined clinton deconstruction and subversion
Dubya's charity defined clinton greed
Dubya's straightforwardness defined clinton sleight of hand
Dubya's reverence defined clinton rapacity
Dubya's inventiveness defined clinton rigidity and devastation
Dubya's humility defined clinton megalomania
Dubya's focus defined clinton aimlessness
Dubya's leadership defined clinton poll-following demagoguery
Dubya's inclusiveness defined clinton balkanizing
Dubya's compassion defined clinton intolerance
Dubya's principles defined clinton expediency
Dubya's prudence defined clinton recklessness
Dubya's sanity defined clinton dysfunction
Dubya's patriotism defined clinton sedition
Dubya's loyalty defined clinton perfidy
Dubya's brilliance defined clinton banality
Dubya's greatness defined clinton smallness
|
Historians will record that Dubya's definition of the clintons and clintonism was formalized by the people on November 5, 2002. |

Mia I have been tinkering with Flash too...here is one of mine...

Wonderful! I love it!
Did you do everything (e.g., transformations, transparencies) directly in flash or did you import graphics from painting/drawing programs?
Flash is so elegant, and the latest suite (StudioMX) is amazing.

What kind of sound file did you use? I used wav.
My preference was to include only one verse of the song, but was unable to get into the sound file to edit. Did you edit?

I did everything in Flash.
Let me try to give you a quick exercise...
What you do is this...make the first "image" whatever it maybe be...in your case let's use a letter..."W". so for Layer one...in the first FRAME on "layer one" click on the TEXT tool and type a W in the background area for the sake of the exercise place it in the upper left hand corner.
type in your W make it the size and color etc...once you are happy with that RIGHT click on that frame which is frame one, then select CREATE MOTION TWEEN....
Then right click the frame one then select COPY FRAME... and then go to frame 20 and then right click and hit PASTE frame...(what you have done is made an exact copy of the W and have two sitting exactly at the same spot...frame 20's W is sitting on top on Frame One's W....
You have two objects on layer one at the same x and y coordinates...one object is living at Frame 1 and the other is living at Frame 20.
OK...what we want to do now is to click on frame 20...(using your pointer tool not the Text tool)...move the W that is occupying frame 20 it will be surrounded by a magenta box outline to show that you have selected it and move it to the lower right hand corner of the Flash....
IF all is well and done right....(crossing fingers my explaination is going to work via a FR thread....) when you play this FLASH you will see the W move from the upper left hand corner to the lower left hand corner....
To do the transparencies....I will follow with a post...try the above steps and let's see if we can get that going...because once you get that done the next part is easy....
ALL of the transformations...spinning...transparencies...everything is based on the above exercise...remember that FLASH isn't easy....for if it were we would see everyone doing it....
POST back with your success and hopefully all of your hair...I'll be here a few more hours...

I used a .wav file....also I know a good music editing program...I use Goldwave...easy to download a TRIAL copy and rather easy to use...
OHHH the real reason why Hillary won't EVER write a book...she has too many OUTSTANDING lawsuits...and my oh my we wouldn't want to have to DISPUTE any facts/lies in the book.
The BOOK advance needs to be investigated...that money has been in LIMBO too long...need to "FOLLOW THE HITLERY MONEY TRAIL"!

Thx. I agree. Flash is complex and you can do complex stuff with it. The only limitation is your imagination. But the nice thing about flash is that even if you are a novice, you can do cool stuff.
I've done animations both ways--totally in flash and importing complex images that I further manipulate in Flash. And sometimes, depending on target venue and whether there is sound, I will export the flash file as a gif animation. (The Torricelli/Lautenberg running/skiing series was done in flash and exported as gif, and some of the original graphics were created in photoshop.)
I've been playing with flash for awhile now. Know how to do motion tweens and transformations. I think, however, that there are more transformations and more complex transformations available in photoshop.
Flash and Photoshop are my favorite graphics applications.
Thx for the sound editor suggestion. Is it Mac compatible?

BTW, I wonder why the FreeRepublic forum doesn't support Flash...Do you have any idea why this is??

There is a "glitch" in the SWF file format...IF there is a LONG opening delay when Flash is L O A D I N G...a hacker can gain access to a computer probably a server too...also...can you imagine people here who post huge graphics (that aren't compressed) onto threads...compiling a show of UN-compressed graphics...they would strangle the Freepers that are still on dial-ups...and literally kill threads.

I don't think...hamsters....ummm well ahhhh you know....uhhh "hang"...if you get my drift....

My point exactly.

I've had a little personal experience with reason 2. ;)
As for hackers, wouldn't the poster's server bear all the risk as the flash file resides on the poster's server, not on FR?

I guess you are right...about the hacker...
I think when they decided awhile back to stop active server scripting, style sheets and other "embedded" items because they could spread viruses/trojans?
To: antivenom
Thx.
I really like what you did. It is ingenious and elegant. The message is clear.

Mia, girl, let it out. It can't be healthy holding it in like this.

Per usual, your post is spot on and fun. Isn't it amazing that the pundits and other not so bright keep trying to figure out why the democrats lost in this last mid-term election? Something you wrote in another post that says:
Taken in one piece, the habitual, even casual abuse of power on display begins to resemble conditions one normally associates with a state of totalitarianism, where such concepts as truth and justice are only paid lip service. America remembers the shoulder to shoulder display of key democrats on the front lawn of the White House just after the Senate failed to convict the man (and the woman) most responsible for abuse of Presidential power in our history. That picture was a picture of men and women who failed to remember for whom they work and who elected them in the first place. For whom do the bells toll? It tolls for those who deceived the public, lied to the public and abused their titles and power. That they chose to do this for a rapist, a perjurer, a philandering spouse, un-American socialist who never told the truth about anything and spent the country blind on an eight year binge, is a picture of men and women who
cannot be trusted to lead in any fashion what so ever. Those are the so-called Democratic leaders, among them Gephardt, Daschel and Al Gore. The DSA, which is the majority of the DNC, are about to step in and on it again with their socialist agenda. America doesnt want them and all their failed policies that helped no one and burdened the nation with socialist projects of more cradle to the grave fix-its; the only thing the DNC has helped is the DNC, creating wealth only for themselves. Under the socialistic stance of the democrats, feudalism lived again and they still dont get it...America is a Republic and Socialism never worked for anyone except the elites like Hillary R. Clinton and her ilk. Terrorism has many faces.........

Thank YOU.
I wonder what caused Wright to make the somewhat anti-Usonian comment...Probably an egomaniacal critique of the Stern sort... ;)
