What I meant, which you must have missed, was that the Muslims I know, probably took as much of a stand against the radical leaders on the other side of the world, as many Catholics did about the priest problem, with the pope. Is that clearer? Again, I don't think that many Catholics called the pope, and told him he was wrong, or stood up and actively took a stand against the church.

Bad analogy. There were many Catholics who voiced their disgust about the priest problem. Most people do not have access to the Pope, but they do have their priest, bishops, monsignors, etc. There was and still is a huge outcry about this subject. Perhaps you didn't see the news recently when the Pope decided that the would not be dismissing priests after one charge....there was a flury of protest from the people.
