It would be like some rich pompous jackass taking money, extorted from working families by the government under the threat of imprisonment for non-compliance, and using that money to fund a “public broadcast service” that markets merchandise (videos, companion books, etc.) whose profits exponentially increase the size of the rich bastard’s bank account.
