Hanson: Yes, in the sense that globalization is driven by the world's desire for the American brand of rampant egalitarianism, personal freedom and laxity, and material surfeit. We have almost no requisites to our movies, video games, music, and television -- the ultimate apparitions of Western freedom. So when millions vote to watch corny Brady Bunch reruns over French melodrama or gulp down Big Macs rather than croissants, it causes real pain.

What a complete, total, pantload.

In effect, what the author is saying here quite literally is, that the French for example hate us because we don't watch their films and eat their type of food? Lack of American "Culture" is for example, causing French hatred of America?

Goes to prove what I've said all along about the French: Stupid Frogs.

Should've let the Germans keep 'em..... So much for gratitude for saving their butts during WW2.

Great article. I went to France 2 summers ago for a school trip. I decided never again that I will visit that has been of a world power again in my lifetime.
