Same here CR. Another book I can recommend highly is Death By Government by R.J. Rummel. It shows conclusively that authoritarian and totalitarian governments of all flavors eventually kill their own citizens in great numbers.
Death By Government is sobering must read for those new to the subject matter. But Wolfe's review contains this one particular gem:
"With such loaded terms, no debate is possible. The assumptions have been imposed in the very words."
