The execution of McVeigh is an argument against the death penalty. It would be better to have kept him alive; important information may have been lost with his execution.

There are people who deserve the death penalty.

However, arguments that it is not an effective deterrent are probably valid.

A better argument against it is the sizeable number of convicts proven innocent by DNA analysis. One must wonder how many innocent people have been executed.

Criminals deserving of the death penalty should be incarcerated permanently and securely, with no chance of parole.

Anyone convicted of a crime, punished, and later found innocent, should be well reimbursed financially by the government, inasmuch as it is the government that is responsible for his unjust punishment. This is one thing for which I will be willing to pay taxes.

I disagree...The execution of McVeigh was a slam-dunk, no questions asked, pro-argument for the death penalty.

My only reservation...is that in this case he was executed way too fast. As I'm of the opinion that there is no way those two guys masterminded, arranged, and carried out the OKC bombing on their own. He had tales to tell...but of course, "dead men tell no tales".

FWIW-

Great. Now how are you gonna assure no chance of escape, commutation of sentence, killings of guards, visitors or other prisoners?

Nothings can reset justice once it has played out against innocents. How is all your compassion of throwning gobs of money going to compensate Grant Snowden who missed seeing his kids grow up because he was incarcerated falsely by Janet Reno in FL. Or Cheryl Amirault who missed having children herself because she was falsely incarcerated during her child bearing years.

You need to do a little growing up.
