There are hardly words to describe a visit to the wall. If you've never been, you should consider making the journey.
The Mall in Washington, D.C. tends to be a noisy boisterous place with political and commercial events always in progress. However, The Wall is almost a place of silent reverence. Everything else faded into the background as I entered the memorial area. Soon, the black wall of names towered over me, and an immense feeling of sadness enveloped me. I simply could not comprehend the loss, the sacrifice, of so many. I'm not sure I've ever recovered from that day...I'm not sure I ever should recover. This is a memory I'll carry with me always.
We never forget....
