You don't get it do you... the cop is a prop. Take an honorable profession and use it to lend creedence to argueably one of the most destructive lifestyles a human could lead. You use the honor of one to gloss over the depravity of the other. Go to a SF bath house and see if you can pick out those of honorable professions, but be carful, you may get stuck...
I understand the argument, and I agree she is using the death of an honorable police officer to further a leftist agenda. But using this as an example of how she is out of touch with America, in my opinion, will not resonate with most people.
People see that a cop died in the line of duty, and oh by the way he was gay. She emphasizes the gay part, but most people, I believe, will emphasize his actions as a police officer. I know I would. Frankly, I don't care if a particular cop is gay--if he is taking crooks off the street, he's doing his job.
I guess I'm saying there is PLENTY to attack Pelosi on--this one is not politic--it won't sell in Peoria to just plain folks who'll just see a cop who got killed chasing down a crook. Just mho.
