Appearing on The O'Reilly Factor with her sister, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, the newly-elected Linda Sanchez got into a spirited debate with the host. During one exchange regarding defense of U.S. borders with the military, Sanchez cited the military history of sniper John Allen Muhammad, and asked: "how are we going to protect our own people from the ex-military?"

		A Record of Public Service Linda Sanchez is the sixth of seven children born to immigrant parents from Mexico. Born in the City of Orange, she attended public schools before attending the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature with an emphasis in Bilingual Education. After working her way through undergraduate school as a bilingual aid and ESL instructor, she attended law school at U.C.L.A., graduating and passing the bar exam in 1995. During her legal studies at U.C.L.A., Linda interned with the Honorable Judge Terry Hatter, Jr., Chief Justice of the Central District Court. She also spent a summer working for the National Organization for Women Legal Defense and Education Fund (NOW LDF) in New York City. While at the NOW LDF, Linda worked on a variety of projects, including work related to the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (VAWA), the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, and a groundbreaking appellate case involving the sexual harassment of a female shipyard worker. After law school, Linda practiced law in the areas of appellate law, civil rights, and employment law. Committed to political activism, she worked extensively on Loretta Sanchez's 1996 landmark congressional campaign in which Loretta defeated a 10-year incumbent by less than 1% of the vote. In 1998, Linda took a leave of absence from the practice of law to run the field portion of Loretta's reelection campaign, a rematch of the 1996 race. As Field Director, Linda was responsible for helping boost the margin of victory from less than 1% to over 17% percent of the vote -- a landslide. Since then, Linda has lectured across the country for the National Association of Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) on how to run an effective grassroots political campaign. After the 1998 election cycle, Linda went to work for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 441 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) as a compliance officer on public works and prevailing wage issues. Working with both labor and management, she investigated and prosecuted contractors who underpaid employees on their wages. A proud member of IBEW Local 441, Linda has been an active member since 1998. width=150 align=left border=1>Currently, Linda Sanchez serves as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer for the Orange County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. As the only Latina head of a Central Labor Council, Linda has been on the front lines of the battle for workers' dignity and respect. Committed to community and charitable activities, Linda has raised money for scholarships and volunteered many hours of her time for events such as Christmas in April, the Hispanic Educational Endowment Fund (HEEF), Read Across America, and IBEW Local 441's Women's Auxiliary (WWEC). Inside the Mind of an Anti-Gunner

Loretta Sanchez, for those of you who don't recognize the name, is a Democratic congresswoman from California. Naturally, she is rabidly anti-gun. Her anti-gun stance earned her a grade of "F" from the Gun Owners of America. Sanchez favors mandatory gun locks. In 1998, she threw her support behind HR 424, which could be used by anti-gun prosecutors to impose a mandatory prison sentence of 15 years for you if you dared to defend yourself with a gun!

So, strangely, Loretta Sanchez was invited to speak at a meeting of the NRA members council of Orange County. The local NRA leadership wanted attendees to "keep an open mind" as they submitted written questions to Sanchez. She sidestepped the difficult questions and professed ignorance of HR 424. One attendee's daughters wrote the question, "You took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution. How do you justify supporting anti-gun legislation?" But the question never made it to Sanchez.

Instead, Sanchez spouted more of the same anti-gun nonsense. She said she doesn't want anyone carrying a concealed weapon outside the home because of "road rage." She said she didn't have a problem with someone buying two or 20 guns at a time – but "50 guns is too many." And, when someone asked if she knew the difference between "assault" and semi-automatic weapons, she replied that she has "seen them fired and that's all [she] needs to know."

Anna Raetz, the national spokeswoman for a group called the Liberty Belles, asked Sanchez, "If women cannot freely purchase firearms, what should single mothers living in the jungles of the inner cities do to protect their families?"

Sanchez's answer: "Get married."

Joe Laria, the co-director of the Liberty Belles, says the room fell silent at that remark. He asked Sanchez about what she felt was the real meaning of the Second Amendment. The moderator said, "That's enough questions," and ended the meeting.

This is the mind of the anti-gunner, my friend. It's kind of empty in there. There's not much in there that would stand up to criticism and rational thought – and that's why the tough questions never got answered. It's the same reason liberals don't do well as talk show hosts. Their positions crumble as soon as they begin a two-way conversation.

And in Loretta Sanchez's strange world, single mothers in crime-ridden inner cities don't need to buy guns for self-defense. They just have to get married, and everything will be all right. Because we all know the predators will instantly steer clear of a married woman. Yeah, right.

Thought and logic are anathema to gun grabbers. Case in point: Loretta Sanchez.
