Lott doesn't take over as majority leader until the next Congress, in January. We will have a Majority before the month is over. Lott should insist on reorganization for the remainder of the session. But, being Trent NottaLott he has still failed to grow a spine. He should be challenged, and challenged hard for the Majority position.

Man, I wish they could condemn that Lott and stick in the super-fund bin for immediate clean-up and disposal of the waste...

Nothing will change in the Senate as long as Share the power Lott is majority leader or minority leader, the democraps will still run the Senate unless another majority leader is elected over Lott.

Lott's going to win the Majority Leader position. Don Nickles was going to challenge him, but is now taking another leadership position. I've called and talked to Orrin Hatch's office, and apparently (!) Lott is the only Republican senator who can corral all of the Republicans and make them work together. Disgusting.

Daschle made repeated statements, prior to the election that he would not allow the senate leadership to change hands before the next session. He said that it just would never happen.
As for the president saying that he would not be beholden to conservatives in the party, this was most likely taken out of context, and repeated to stir up controversy with the party. The only chance that the liberals have is to divide the Bush base and some of you are falling for it, hook, line and sinker.
