Without a second's hesitation, he snapped to full attention, at the same time shouting loudly, "OUTSTANDING" !! Nowhere but in the Corps would this be instinctive, and a common occurence! LadyX, you are one HOT BAM... and your posts are OUTSTANDING! Happy Marine Corps Birthday! :O)

Nothing to do except play with themselves? Well, I guess you fail to consider interesting alternatives that the shorebound under certain circumstances might.

Allow me to thank you for your service in Southeast Asia, Marine.

If no one other than family said it to you:

"Welcome Home, Marine"

"That two Battalions of Marines be raised consisting of one Colonel, two Lieutenant Colonels, two Majors & Officers as usual in other regiments, that they consist of an equal number of privates with other battalions; that particular care be taken that no person be appointed to office or enlisted into said Battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve to advantage by sea, when required. That they be enlisted and commissioned for and during the present war with Great Britain and the colonies, unless dismissed by order of Congress. That they be distinguished by the names of the First and Second Battalions of American Marines, and that they be considered a part of the number, which the continental Army before Boston is ordered to consists of."

(Resolution of the Continental Congress, 10 November 1775)

God Bless all those Marines that gave their all.
God Bless all those Marines that answered the call.
They are proud to be the protectors of "Old Glory"
and dear friends of "Uncle Sam"
and once more they protect us all in Afghanistan.
God Bless the USMC

Marine Running Cadence
When I Die
When I die bury me deep.
With two crossed rifles laid beneath my feet
And by my side a .45 I wear,
And dont forget to pack my PT gear
Because early one mornin' around zero-five,
The grounds gonna shake there'll be thunder in the sky.
Don't you get alarmed. Don't you come undone.
It's just me and Chesty Puller on a PT run.

Similar thing on PI in '89. 'Cept no cigarettes. Had one DI, SGT Weyant, who smoked Marlboro Red (saw 'em through his shirt pocket) but could outrun anyone. And I mean anyone.
