The article singles out Moose and lets the feds off the hook. THAT was my point. Apparently on FR, the PC way is not to be analytical, to go beyond the story, and go along with the rest of the posters. I pointed out that the FBI, not Moose, profiled, and the FBI blew it. I pointed out that there were a number of jurisdictions involved on the task force from local, county, state and federal agencies, but only Moose was getting the blame. I pointed out that when the feds, particularly the FBI, are involved in multijurisdictional taskforces, the information flows only one way (to them) and that they take over the investigation. I pointed out that it was Attorney General John Ashcroft and the Justice Department who made the charging decisions. I want to know if you think that Moose made all the decisions on this taskforce without any discussions with any of the other local, county, state and federal agencies. I want to know if you think that Moose took all the tipline phone calls. I want to know if you think that Moose was the only investigator/detective/beat cop on this case, although it spanned two states and DC.

And most especially, I'd like to know why you are more than willing to absolve the FBI (especially the FBI), the ATF (especially the ATF), the US Secret Service and the Postal Service (as well as other federal alphabet agencies) from any responsibility and blame it all on Moose, simply because he's black, he doesn't talk the way people want him to talk, and was the face out front of this investigation. Given the history of the feds, I'd like to know why they are absolved from any & all mistakes made and that Moose is responsible for them all.

I've never blamed it on his being black, his attributes, or personality, except when his character lends to it. And MOOSE was the one to say he was leading the investigation. I think it was the first (or second?) press briefing he gave; but at one time he indeed declared it was his. I am certain that other agencies were involved, but the responsibility was his. Also, a poster on FR bragged about how great Moose is during this time, claiming his sister is an inspector for Moose, and that Moose was in charge. That confirmed it. If you think that I am saying Moose took all the calls personally, etc., then that's silly and there's no point to go on. I am looking at the history of the man. And I could care less if he is black; MOOSE made race an issue on his own, without my help.

Regards.
