Then it looks like you'd be more than willing to attack my grandparents, my father and me (at least when I fall into my south side Milwaukee dialect) with our dis, dat, dose and dese's. I can hear my father yelling at me when I do, but sometimes I just slip into it.

Our police chief is from Boston and has an unfortunate speech impediment. His speaking voice is horrible, and his accent grates on our Green Bay ears. But you know what--he's a damn good police chief, and a beat cop got into trouble for mocking him by calling him "Chief Woowis (Lewis)." Would you disparge our chief because of the way he talks?

I find certain accents and vioces grating--Liddy Dole's honey lips southern accent, for one, and I hate the high squeaky Eastern accent voice Terry Jeffries has, and Katherine Harris' southern deb voice drives me to distraction. And I can't stand Rita Cosby's whistle, and I think that Brit Hume is one nanosecond away from a huge, blowing-out-windows belch. Don't even get me started on Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather & Peter Jennings. But I can understand the message. Apparently, you won't be happy until everyone has a bland, made-for-TV, non-regional accent, with everyone in the US sounding alike.

Neither have you. But you said the FBI wasn't in charge of the sniper shootings, based on your husband's experience. Was your husband on the sniper shootings task force? He must be because that'd be the only way he'd have inside information as to who was in charge in the sniper shootings task force. So if he's on the sniper task force, he'd be able to give us the names of the actual members of the task force--that'd be the names of the chiefs and sheriffs or their designees, plus the names of the state agencies involved and the names of their representatives or designees, as well as the representatives of each of the federal agencies involved.

She said the FBI wasn't in charge of the sniper task force, based on her husband's experience with the FBI. I would assume she knows the FBI wasn't in charge of the sniper taskforce because of inside information about the sniper taskforce. Does she have it?

She hasn't given me any proof or evidence besides a possibly fictional story about her husband.

What does being married to a white woman have to do with anything? Could you please explain why the race and hair color of one's spouse goes the competency or incompetency of Chief Moose--or anyone else, for that matter?

You are generalizing. I'm black and I certainly DO NOT speak like the moose.

Charles Moose was - from beginning to end - listed as the head of the joint task force. This is not a 'symbolic' position. I can tell you as someone who lived in the Portland area during the entire time he was chief there, Moose would NEVER allowed himself to be just a figurehead. He had a great deal of control or we all would have heard about it.

You assume all who criticize Moose had a racial axe to grind. I have none. His performance is all that matters to me and I lost my respect for him long before he hit the national limelight.

During the manhunt, I stopped trying to tell people on this forum to be careful in formulating their opinions of this man. Many just were not interested. I know during a crisis, people try to rally around the leader. But now that the crisis is over, we really should be able to have a conversation about his performance and not have to face constant accusations of racism.

I know many here think that just because he is law enforcement, he is one of us. I can assure you he is not.

Moose is not a fault for anything. It was the FBI that refused to profile as usual. It just so happens that there were few voices in opposition.

They got it right in the end. this was a impossible situation. Any wacko could have pulled this off. Any color, any creed, any political pursuasion.

From day one Paul Sperry has been calling as it was. Witnesses said that they saw dark skinned individuals leaving crime scenes. It was in one of the first police bulletins that witnesses saw dark skinned individuals and Sperry wrote about it.
