Pelosi is irrelevant. She is going to be a barking chihuahua. It is the SENATE that we need to be concerned about.

Trent Lott is OUR chihuahua--even when he has the majority.

Now he has an insurmountable majority, AND the White House to help him with his missing cojones.

We have to go under the assumption that he is going to be there, and we're going to have to deal with him. Despite all the speculation about who could succeed him, no one will. No one is challenging him, and we have to deal WITH LOTT.

ATTENTION: SPECULATION ABOUT WHO COULD SUCCEED LOTT IS IRRELEVANT. ASSUME HE IS THERE TO STAY, AS HE MOST SURELY IS. HOW DO WE GIVE THIS GUY A SPINE?

I strongly recommend that we take several approaches simultaneously:

1. Assuming that Lott will not step aside and that he will be re-elected, he needs to be reminded of how he has been screwed by the democrats (Judge Dennis Shedd rejection comes to mind)despite his attempt at being magnanomous. Under this approach:

a. Compile a list of how the DEMs have angered Lott
b. Begin an e-mail campaign to Lott, reminding him of this
c. Get Freepers on Limbaugh to drill this point home. Lott monitors Limbaugh
d. Provide an easily accessible location for Freepers to find e-mail addresses and the item (a) list.

2. Encourage other Senators to seek the position. I recommend that we concentate on two. I would recommend McConnell and Nickols - senators that have in the past stood up to the DEMs.

a. Obtain a concensus from Freepers on the two Senators
b. Compile a list of how the DEMs have angered these two Senators
c. Begin an e-mail campaign, reminding him of thisand encouraging them to seek the nomination.
d. Provide an easily accessible location for Freepers to find e-mail addresses and the item (b) list.

I guess I didn't state my concern clearly enough.

It's the media's ability to sway public opinion. That's what concerns me most, and she will have an enormous impact.

Lott folds up like a cheap suit on TV, because he doesn't have the ability to articulate the conservative views like Frist, or Keyes for example. Lott just sputters soundbites/talking points, and even that he doesn't do very affectively.
