The course, however, is about Clinton presidency, not his person. It is true, of course, that Clinton's presidency was to a great extent about his self-centered person, but these are not the same.
To study art you do not need to know much about the artist himself. Here is the same distinction.
Surely, someone else could have come up with a different list, but I do not find the syllabus to be outrageous.

As only the second president to face impeachment in our history, I would suspect that a discussion of the reasons for that impeachment is an important part of a course on his presidency.

You raise an interesting point.
It is my view that when the clinton...uh...presidency is examined to determine why it was an utter failure, the answer will be precisely because that presidency WAS clinton.
Rather than becoming president, clinton made the presidency him. His decision to reduce the presidency rather than rise to it was driven not only by egomania, but by cowardice, arrogance, banality and the lack of a moral compass.
