Actually, I can't take anyone seriously when they spout crap like "women get pap smears because of promiscuity"...

It's the truth. Women in monogamous relationships, who have normal exams 3 years in a row may decide (with their doctors) to go 2 to 5 years between exams.
You may find it difficult to take seriously, but that's only because no one's explained the connection to you, before.


Cervical cancer is caused by Human Papilloma Virus. 98% to 99% of all cervical cancers are positive for the virus (some believe 100%:

Cervical cancer is the result of an STD. The pap smear tests for the early results of HPV.
