That would be the biggest move ever. Hopefully the numbers work. You would have to replace the $$$ from somewhere. That is great b/c it would tax people fairly, AND cut down govt.

My greatest concern? A NRST will be implemented, but they'll keep at least part of the income tax. And then the income tax will slowly creep back up. And we'll have the worst of BOTH worlds.

We're going to have to watch this sucker like a hawk.

Tariffs were the original SOLE source of government income. If we just had the political nerve to do it.....

While I have strong reservations---and prefer a simple flat tax, a la Forbes---I think the likelyhood of ever getting that is zip. Therefore I could support this. Anything is better than what we had. (Check that, didn't people say that about Gerald Ford?)
