But it's possible that if the Dems feel very chastened that they'll think twice in the future before trying to obstruct everything in sight that a Republican President tries to do. The Shumers, Clintons and Daschles may lose some ability to get the Dems to follow them over the cliff the next time they're out to throw up a roadblock to everything a Republican President tries to do.

Pursued gun control.

Pursued higher taxes.
