I did not see the Lindsey Graham debate but I did see many t.v. ads that his opponent was running against him. I guess they thought they were using some unflattering photos of him but he looked ten times better (esthetically) than his grumpy old opponent...lol....I had great fun in SC talking politics with my relatives and recalling the W primary win there. And boy do they dislike Clinton, big time...lol....I had to stop bringing up his name as even his name got some very upset and don't even think about mentioning Hillary around some of them...

How Sweet It Is!!, Indeed.
Last night our television set was tuned to CBS while we waited for JAG to begin. I walked through the room and there was Dan Rather making the announcement that Jeb won in Florida. What a sweet moment that was to watch him have to utter those words.
We're stuck with four more years of Davis, Condit's protege, Dennis Cardoza appears to have won the 18th Congressional seat. The dems re-districting handed Cardoza the win. If the lines had not been redrawn to include parts of Stockton, Monteith would have won.
Oh well, on the bright side, Cardoza belongs to the MINORITY party. :)
Also on the bright side, let me paint a picture in words for you. Sunday evening, I happened to drive by Condit's office. His office is located in the middle of the block among some store-front type suites. Just to the west of his office, positioned at the curb, is a large dumpster. I imagine, it is place there for some contruction work that is going on in the next-door office suite, but with the proper camera angle, the dumpster and the Condit signage on the glass in the background would produce a terrific Kodak moment. I hope my words have produce a mental image for you.
Congratulations Julie on a job well done. Tis a glorious day for the United States of America!
May GOD Bless the efforts of our new national leadership.

THANK YOU ALL! One thing I need to point out:
The electronic machines to which I'm referring are not the touch screen ones you've been mentioning.
The machines tried out in Harris County for the first time anywhere (as far as I know) are manipulated by a wheel set in a keyboard apparatus.
The wheel is similiar to a mouse in that as you turn the wheel different parts of the screen light up, and when the part of the screen you want is lit, you press the "enter" button to record your preference.
If you're familiar with manipulating a mouse, this is a snap, but in lower and lower-middle working class neighborhoods, computers are not common.

'Tis a sweet day in the land 'o'peaches today!
I went to bed early last night, a bit under the weather, only to wake up to find that demoncRATic senator "Max" (Cleland) had been "AXED!" AND, if that wasn't elation enough, the state of GA had its first Republican governor since reconstruction (over 100 years!).
Just returned from my standing lunch date with .45MAN and today we had the pleasure of LBGA joining us to celebrate our break from the "immoral minority" and their "in your face" politics.
May God continue to bless us in our quest to put in place moral and committed people to lead us. May more US citizens come around to realize that there is more to being governed than electing shysters who dance around the meaning of "is" and "partying like it's 1999" while the faith and morals and well-being of the country and all it stands for slowly slip into hell.
Let us pray that this is a new beginning - the beginning of leadership that will guide us in the right direction and keep us safe from the perils of terrorism.
And let us GIVE THANKS to all of the military service men and women who have given up a part, or in some cases, ALL of their lives so that we can exercise our right to vote and live free.
We ask this of the Lord, Our Father, Amen.

Have a nice day out Nan. Look forward to seeing you later and we can celebrate together....

Thanks for the Oregon update and I will certainly keep Mannix in my prayers.
Congratulations on being one of FR's Finest last Monday. I was outatown and have not been able to read it yet-did glance at the graphics. Dansangel did a wonderful presentation and I will comment on it when I finally get around to reading it. Spending most of today celebrating, though...lol..
