Can we now look back and realize how different things would have been if he had spent those few months before the attack on all things Clinton? He would have rallied the Clinton mob, put them in the poor persecuted mode and spent those months fighting. No tax cut, no education reform, nothing but Clinton.
Then the attack and the war. Clinton would still have been forefront in everyone's minds as the poor persecuted ex-pres.
Instead, we have a President that spends time getting results for the American people in their pocketbook, in their schools, in their foreign relations.
Thanks President Bush for realizing you were put there to carry out your stated agenda - not as top prosecuter. You were elected to do the people's business and you have done it wonderfully. It would be wonderful for Clinton to get his just desserts but there are others in government that can handle that - it does not need the president to do it.
IMHO.
Thanks,
Eaker
It also would have been unseemly for President Bush to engage in that. And that's what we're here for anyway -- to FReep the creeps. :) I like to believe that some intrepid FReepers are more than a little responsible for the long dearth of $peaking engagement$ in the U.S. for the sinkmaster. Maybe I'm wrong, but I like to believe that some of the fierce protests when he did some 6-figure $peeche$ right after we finally got him out of office maybe convinced other companies and organizations that it just might not be worth the bad publicity and embarrassment of "Give Back the Silverware" and "Clinton is a Rapist" signs and chants.
We also get information here, bounce ideas off one another and are thus better informed when we turn around and write/call/protest/rally various government people.
And none of this would have been possible without the hard work and brilliant vision of Jim and John. We can never thank them enough.
