I don't think you can assume the L votes would automatically be R votes instead. Some perhaps, but not many. Some people just can't stand either major party and will either vote third party or, more likely, just won't vote.

Last precinct out is in Hamlin County 50-50 in the 11 of 12 precincts out. Doesn't look good.

Dunno if it matters.

Take your pick, Losertarian or vote fraud.

I have to disagree.

Even if half stay home, the rest probably break to us by a 3-to-1 margin.

The Indians are in, but there are TWO pubbie precincts out now, or errors in the precinct reporting numbers. Wonder if one withdrew its numbers for a revised figure.

There are two precincts not reporting. Either one, both Republican, could be the one that hasn't reported it's Senate race totals yet.

DIST 34 STATE HOUSE
(R) KRAUS ELIZABETH 5352 44 6 7
(R) MCLAUGHLIN ED 6820 56 6 7

DIST 33 STATE HOUSE
(R) BUCKINGHAM MICHAEL 3120 32 14 15
(D) MCGLYNN BRENDA 2292 24 14 15
(R) VAN ETTEN DONALD 4317 44 14 15

District 34 has 6 of 7 precincts reporting.

District 33 has 14 of 13 precincts reporting.

I mean 14 of 15 precincts reporting, one still out, but one of these may have counted the Senate race.

The SoS had 843 of 844 precincts reporting with Johnson ahead, but this last pubbie precinct has not come in yet.

545 plus 135 = 680 votes out of the last two Indian precincts.

But I thought our pubbie district was good for over a thousand, well, maybe it was good for 868, giving Thune a narrow 188 victory.

Oops, found another State House race with a precinct out. If 06 is the one that's out, then we wouldn't get alot from it as 47 or 48 precincts have reported.

DIST 06 STATE HOUSE
(D) BERGAN V. LEROY 3294 19 47 48
(R) FRYSLIE ART 5507 32 47 48
(R) KOISTINEN AL 5534 32 47 48
(D) WHITES RON 2840 17 47 48

Let's go to a drop D tuning and pay attention to the hammer ons and pull offs. We'll bridge from the slide. Keep it simple and give it some air.

It may sound like psycho babble...but that there is guitar talk. Right before launching into an Blues jam.

All 844 precincts now reporting. Johnson "wins" by 528 votes--pending the recount. Thune was leading until the last couple precincts. South Dakota is an Indian giver!

TOTAL PERCENT PRECINCTS TOTAL
VOTES OF VOTE REPORTING PRECINCTS

U S SENATE
(L) EVANS KURT 3071 1 844 844
(D) JOHNSON TIM 167477 50 844 844
(R) THUNE JOHN 166949 49 844 844

"Final" results: Johnson wins by 528. There will be a recount. Florida redux, on the other side, IMO.

I think we lost this one. Don't know if it was fair and square. In the old days, the Republican would have given a gracious concession speech and faded into the woodwork, letting the Democrat soak up the limelight.

Is the recount mandatory or does the loser have to sign on to it?

I hope the Russians monitor the recount if there is one.

The Losertarian killed us in this race.

Those 3,000 votes are the difference - AGAIN.

Ensign in Nevada in 1998.
Gorton in Washington in 2000.
Thune in South Dakota in 2002.

And the libertarians wonder why we're angry at THEM and consider THEM spoilers?

Wilson has won, and I think Bonilla will when the rest of Bexar comes in. The GOP in Colorado said Beauprez was ahead by 900 votes with 99% counted, but that has not been verified. So it looks like GOP +8 counting LA-5 going GOP in December. I think that matches their 1994 total.
